| The Madisonville Consolidated Independent School District is located in the eastern portion of Madison County and extends into Grimes County in the South.
Included in the district is the city of Madisonville, the county seat and principle commercial center of Madison County. It is located approximately half-way between Dallas and Houston where Interstate Highway 45 crosses Texas Highway 21. Austin is about the same distance to the west. Madisonville is within 30 miles of Sam Houston University in Huntsville and within 40 miles of Texas A&M University in College Station. |
