Through joint efforts of our local, regional, state, and national partners, a Drive Thru COVID-19 Specimen Collection Site will be active in Madisonville this Friday, April 24, 2020, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments are necessary!
All persons interested in being tested must be exhibiting one or more symptoms of COVID-19 and complete the registration process by telephone or online. The Call Center Hotline may be reached by dialing 1-512-883-2400, or completing the process online at https://txcovidtest.org. Please register with your name as it appears on your state or military-issued ID, and be prepared to present your ID upon arrival at the drive thru location. You are responsible for your own transportation and must remain in your vehicle at all times on the test collection site.
ONLY PERSONS WHO HAVE REGISTERED AND RECEIVED AN APPOINTMENT will be tested at this event.
The swab samples will be taken through the drive thru and shipped off to one of two labs in the state. Test results will be sent directly to the person tested. The Department of State Health Services will also receive information on positive tests, as is the current standard procedure for all positive tests in the state. DSHS will send limited information to local officials, within HIPAA guidelines. Only general patient information will be made public, so as not to reveal the patient's identity.
