MCISD has a district SHAC committee. SHAC (School Health Advisory Council) is responsible for providing recommendations to the district's health education curriculum or instruction. The committee is comprised of district representatives as well as community members. The committee will meet 2 to 3 times per academic year and focus on the following components:
- Nutrition Services
- Health Services
- Healthy and Safe School Environment
- Counseling and Mental Health Services
- Staff Wellness Promotion
- Parent and Community Involvement
- Physical Education
- Health Education
