A-F Accountability
The Texas school accountability system was updated by HB 2804 from the 84th Legislature to assign campuses and districts with one of five ratings from A-F, based on student performance on state standardized tests, graduation rates, and college, career & military readiness indicators. These ratings assess student achievement, school progress, and closing achievement gaps among different student groups.
Due to ongoing litigation in the state, the ratings for the 2022/2023 school year have not been released. However, preliminary data indicates that MCISD has shown promising results, with the Mustangs outperforming the region and state averages in most subject areas.
District ratings for the 2023/2024 school year were supposed to be available in August 2024. However, due to the pending litigation from the 2022/2023 reporting year, the state is unable to release district ratings yet again. The Mustangs did receive individual student scores and were pleased with the findings. Again, the Mustangs performed better than the state and region in most of the subject areas.
