Follett Destiny is MCISD’s online, integrated management system for library resources. Parents and students have access to our online catalogs at each campus. We encourage parents and students to begin exploring our collections, and learning about the wide variety of resources available for checkout.

The 89th Legislative Session enacted legislation requiring the Texas School Safety Center, in partnership with the Department of Public Safety, to distribute information regarding the proper storage of firearms. Attached is guidance on safe firearm storage practices and the associated legal penalties for parents of students enrolled in Texas public school districts.

HB 1481 prohibits the use of personal communication devices—defined as telephones, cell phones (including smartphones and flip phones), tablets, smartwatches, radio devices, paging devices, or any other electronic devices capable of telecommunication or digital communication—by students while on school property during the school day. School districts may choose to establish policies that prohibit the possession of personal communication devices on campus or designate approved methods for the secure storage of such devices while students are on school premises during instructional hours. Additionally, HB 1481 requires school districts to provide parents with written notice at least 90 days prior to any disposal of a student’s personal communication device.

Policies pertaining to students engaged in physical education: Elementary (K-5), Secondary Annually, the district will conduct a physical fitness assessment of students in grades 3-12 who are enrolled in a physical education course or a course for which physical education credit is awarded. At the end of the school year, a parent may submit a written request to obtain the results of their child’s physical fitness assessment conducted during the school year by contacting the appropriate campus principal.
School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) shall meet 4 times per year. Additional information regarding SHAC may be located under the Public Information tab.
The district has adopted and implemented the state and federal policies for food service,
including guidelines to restrict student access to vending machines. For more information
about these policies and guidelines, see the Director of Child Nutrition.
E-cigarettes/Vapes or tobacco products are prohibited. See the Student Handbook and Code of Conduct for additional details.
Campus Health Care - MCISD has a registered nurse on each campus. The nurses are equipped to serve the needs of all students.
